The Life U Women's Cross Country team has enjoyed great success this season, most notably after a 10th-place finish in last weekend's Sand Shark Invitational, a meet comprising some of the top NAIA teams in the country.
It was a great day of racing for the ladies, and a lot of PRs were attained. Senior Cora Atkinson led the pack (PR-19:17), followed by sophomore Elizabeth Skipper (20:07), freshman Tatiana Gonzalez (PR- 20:23), junior Angerika Colbert (20:42) and freshman Nylah Brown (PR- 20:42). Junior Alexandria Moton (20:47), senior Victoria Favela-Parra (21:21), senior Mariana Sanchez (PR- 22:32) and senior Hanne Polden (27:55) were also strong for the squad!
Next up is the Mid-South Conference meet next Saturday, November 5 at Phil Moore Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The winning team will receive an automatic berth to the NAIA National Championship meet on Saturday, November 19 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Individual racers can qualify for the NAIA Nationals by either being on the automatic qualifying team or an at-large team, or by finishing in the top 4 finishers not on an a qualifying team.
