Life U Battles Tough Conditions to Take 3rd at Mid-South Preview Meet
Women's Cross Country - Tue, Sep. 13, 2016

Temperatures soared in Bowling Green, Kentucky on Saturday, September 10, as the Life U Running Eagles finished third in the Mid-South Conference Preview Meet. "It was a tough day with extreme heat," said Head Coach Cathy Faust after the meet.

Life U was led by sophomore Elizabeth Skipper, who finished in 14th place. Senior Cora Atkinson finished right behind Skipper in 15th. Not far behind were a pack of Running Eagles, with Victoria Favela-Parra (SR), Nylah Brown (FR) and Angerika Colbert (JR) finishing 23rd,24th and 25th, respectively.

"Nylah and Angerika are improving leaps and bounds, as these two are extremely new to cross country," noted Faust.

Freshman Tatitana Gonzalez and senior Mariana Sanchez rounded out the Running Eagles team, finishing as their 6th and 7th runners for team scoring. "It's too early in the season to focus on our times," Faust explained. "We have many young runners this year that are making a huge adjustment in race distance."

Faust noted that the team has had some excellent practices and are ahead of pace compared to last season, which is a terrific sign for her squad.

Next, the Running Eagles will travel to Varnell, Georgia this upcoming Saturday, September 17 for the Dalton State XC Classic. Good luck ladies!
